why not a gear indicator for manual?

You know what, I will rephrase my question/comment for some of you reatards that can't comprehend basic english sorry mod(since you guys are letting it go on).

I never said that I want to have a gear indicator because I forget or don't know what gear I am in. I simply just think its a cool feature to have just the same as if somebody was to install a raptor shift light.
Do we need a shift light because we dont know when to shift? NO.

I just wanted to know if there was a way to have a gear indicator like on the auto camaros maybe with a simple reflashing or simple wiring, instead of our manuals just having a blank area on the info screen.

Not a big deal, if not oh well. Whats the deal with bunch of panties up some peoples arse

You are kidding me right?

Why does it take a ricer to need a gear indicator? so a lambo and ferrari's are "rice" because they have a gear indicator?
and the auto camaro's technically have a gear indicator too, and pro racing circuit along with nascar.

Buddy, go talk that ricer crap somewhere else.

My first thought also was that no-one driving a manual should ever need an indicator to tell them what gear they are in...I 'm not trying to insult the OP I just honestly can say I've never been driving a stick (25 years now) and not known what gear I'm in between the speedo, engine RPMs and the position on my hand on the shifter when I grab it to shift....the indicator is pretty useful though when playing grand turismo or whatever the video game was called...

Frankly, I think a gear indicator is unecessary. I get where the OP is coming from, it would be a "nice" thing to have. But you can tell just by feel what gear you're in. Also, you should know what gear you're in because you shifted it there! lol

its just a nice feature to have in my opinion. We have a digital and analog speedometer in our camaro so why we need 2? The digital is just a nice feature to have.
I 've been driving a manual for 15 yrs so I dont think not knowing what gear im in is an issue.
Alot of high end cars come with gear indicators, especially the dual clutch trannies.

The concept cars had gear indicators in the center of the tach. I don't know why they removed it.

That's actually kind of cool... except the article in the link says you have to be able to read German to figure out how to install and program it...
I never wonder what gear I'm in though, so it would be a waste...

I was just trying to see if theres anyway we can have the gear indicator working like the auto camaro. Our manual just have a blank screen where it show the gear in the auto.

That shift knob look cool tho..
