Car's 1 week old, already some minor damage ...

Driving down the highway yesterday, came upon a small object (piece of wood/rubber?) about 1 a ft long. It was too late to safely swerve away from it, must've caught my front tire and then bounced off the rear passenger quarter in front of the rear wheel:

Will probably be going to the body shop tomorrow for an estimate.

No dents, just a scuff mark a a couple of chips ...

What can you do.

That's how it usually goes. First day or two after getting something new it gets scratched or damaged. Like getting a new cell phone and dropping it in the parking lot the first day.

I had a similar thing happen. Some idiot had stuff flying out of the back of his packed pickup on I95. Some plastic thing flew out and hit my front right quarter panel. Luckily only a scuff mark that I was able to buff out. Good luck with your car.

Well at least no dents. Should be a quick fix for a body shop.

it could have been worse.... and it can be repaired... I had someone hit a big piece of truck tire and fling it into the right front wheel of my Sky, it busted out my fog light, and then lodged in the wheel well and under the tire, it threw us into a spin down the interstate at 70 MPH.. it came out finally and I regained control after 2 360's... pulled over to the side of the road to access the damage, we were both more shook up from the spin than was worried about the damage to the car...

Your are absolutely right Sky.

No one was hurt, and I should count my blessings.

Ok, went to the body shop today.

It's gonna cost $275 to fix. That's for sanding the damaged area & then repainting most of the rear quarter (for blending).

Only gonna take 2 days, car goes in middle of next week.
