FLYWHEEL NOISE

TURNS OUT THE FLYWHEEL BOLTS WERE LOOSE . I WAS UNDER THE CAR WHEN THE GM MECHANIC REMOVED THE CLUTCH AND TURNED OUT THE FLYWHEEL BOLTS BY HAND.
IN MY OPINION EXTRA HORSEPOWER DOES NOT LOOSEN BOLTS ONLY A POOR ASSEMBLY JOB WITH IMPROPER TORQUING OR THE LACK OF LOCKTITE AT THE FACTORY.
THE DEALER IS NOW GOING TO REAPPLY FOR WARRANTY AS HE WAS SURE THE Z28 HAD A DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL AND THE SPRINGS WERE BROKEN . THE Z28 DOES NOT HAVE A DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL ,IT IS ONE SOLID PIECE .
THERE SEEMS TO BE SOME CONFUSION AT A PARTS LEVEL WITH THE Z28.
THE GM MECHANIC SHOWED ME THE BREAKDOWN ON HIS SERVICE COMPUTER AND IT SHOWS A DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL WHICH IS INCORRECT . ALSO THE PARTS DEPT SHOWS A DIFFERENT PART # FOR DIFF OIL THAT THE SERVICE BOOKLET SHOWS . THE Z28 DOES NOT HAVE CLUTCHES IN THE DIFF . IT HAS GEARS ONLY SO NO ADDITIVE .

Your car has the same clutch as my ss or any other ss or 1le. Ls3 and ls7 use the same clutch.

I see no reason they wont cover this now- freak thing! but as you now know modded cars are a no no but whats the fun it that? the LSA's have 8 crank bolts vs old school 6 bolts
glad to hear the SM is doing the right thing covering this (lack of proper assembly!) modifications had nothing to do with this issue

I THOUGHT THE FORUM WAS ABOUT CARS NOT SOMEONE CHECKING SPELLING AND MAKING SURE WE TYPE CORRECTLY . YOUR OBIOULSY ON THE WRONG FORUM.

I HAD TO PAY UP FRONT BUT GM HAS ASKED ME FOR A COPY OF THE INVOICE . SO HOPEFULLY THEY WILL COME TO THE PARTY.
WE TOOK A CLOSER LOOK OT THE BOLTS WITH AND DO NOT SEE ANY SIGNS OF LOCKTITE.
EVEN THOUGH THE CAR ONLY HAD 4K ON IT I CHANGED THE CLUTCH AND PRESSURE PLATE AT THE SAME TIME .COST AN EXTRA $350

final answer from gm is no warranty and my car is blacklisted . they say any modifications no matter how big or small voids all warranty and the dealer has to report mods .so be careful what you say about your car as they monitor this and other forums
