I feel for you, brother! I too, don't mind springing for goodies... but want a good product.

Thanks for the warning on mail order wheels, we were just shopping on line this week. Whew!... that was close!

I'm really happy we were able to bring your vision to life for you! I think you're car turned out REALLY nice.
Also glad the wheels got finished up and turned out looking sharp. BIG difference from the way the wheels started and the finished product after having them re-powder coated and striped localy.
Toyaholic, if you need some wheels powder coated, let me know, we can get them taken care of for you!

I have been terrible about keeping this thread up to date. I will be updating it in the next few days. I have done several mods worth documenting. It is also about to get some performance mods. So stay tuned!

I like those wheels. Are they light wheels? I always mix up the tsw and the CCW wheels. I have Lexani LX-15 in black, not sure how heavy they are. Anyway, beautiful car.

Thanks.

I remember that they are around 22lbs. Very light. I bought a new rear set for the drag strip...18x9.5 with Nitto drag radials. They are getting powder coated right now. I bought the new set from Discount Tire. Actually a little cheaper than the sponsors on this site. I will always buy locally on wheels from now on.

Thanks farthest!

Just about ready to start on some performance. Waiting on a few more parts to arrive. Will probably be starting on the biggest part of it first of January. I've got the new ZL1 fuel pump installed, and will be putting in the new torque converter either next week, or the week after.

After the performance mods are done, I plan on getting a removable 6-point roll bar made. The idea will be when I'm heading for the track, I'll install the roll bar, remove the high-flow cats, and install the drag radials.

Speaking of drag radials,
Today I picked up the new wheels from the powder-coaters. They are identical to my existing wheels, except the new ones are 18x9.5. I got them powder coated flat black to match the others. When I got them home, I started on the red pinstripe. The tires are Nitto NT05R (305/45R18). That should improve track times!

My best 1/4 mile (on street tires, air intake, catback exhaust, and a Jannetty tune) was 13.251 at Pony Wars in Valdosta.

Thanks Krinitt! I'm proud of the way they turned out.

I just bought another pair of 18's, had them powder coated, and I pinstriped them. Getting ready to mount some Nitto Drag Radials on them for the 'strip.

Some progress over the weekend. I test drove the car Saturday morning after swapping out the torque converter. Wanted to make sure everything was fine there before starting on the supercharger. I spent the rest of the day cleaning up the garage.

Sunday I started on the supercharger install. I got the front facia off (a lot easier than I thought it would be.) I got the ADM air deflector installed. I also got the intercooler for the supercharger installed.

Every time I had the CAI air tube off, I have looked for oil around the throttle body to see if I needed a catch can. I have never found any oil on either car. I removed the throttle body today, and I found a little bit of oil behind it. I looked in the intake, and it looked pretty clean in there. But I only have about 2200 miles on the car. I just ordered an Elite Engineering catch can.

I was looking for a flywheel locking tool so that I can pin the crankshaft, which is required for a supercharger install. I was looking at buying one, and even posted a WTB in the classifieds section. The tool runs about $90 new. A member, bigsquirrel, offered to loan me his if I pay for shipping. What generous people we have on here! I sent him a PM taking him up on his offer.

I'm really wanting to redo several of the wiring harnesses around the engine to clean things up. I'm going to wait until the supercharger is all installed and tested before doing that. Too many changes at once could make troubleshooting difficult.

One thing about the whipple install kit is that it appears that the intercooler reservoir is supposed to be installed up front by the regular coolant fill locations. However, I have one of those radiator covers. I don't think that it will mount with the radiator cover installed. I'll have to get that figured out.

I should get a chance to work on it every night this week. Headers are supposed to be here on Wednesday. Stay tuned. I'll get some pictures in the next couple of days.
