what cars are faster than the SS?
what popular cars are faster? we all know the cts-v, the corvette, the z06, the m3/m5, etc. but what about the 370z, the g37, the 550i/335i, the boxster, the genesis, so on and so forth? i just think it would be interesting to compile a list of cars that are definitely quicker than the SS that you are likely to see on the road. of course there are aston martin's, bentley's, and others that are much faster, but also much rarer. nobody expects the camaro to be faster than those.

If you put the same money in the SS you would beat the M3. I looked at a new one, Starting at $58,900 MSRP. You could upgrade a lot with the extra money.

That would be a LONG list if your talking stock un-modified vs stock un-modified.
Now turn any of us respected tuners loose and depending on how deep your pockets are we can shrink that list substainially.

i said "common" and "popular" cars. the more expensive the car, the less popular or common it is. so we shouldn't limit the discussion to a budget.
according to forbes.com (2009 data), it's not that many cars (under $100k): mustang +, z06, AMG, lotus (yuck), GT-R, viper, cts-v under $50k: http://www.forbes.com/2010/05/05/fas...r_slide_2.html camaro is the fastest on 0-60 behind the gt500. so really, the answer to my own post: not many popular cars are faster. lol.
