new member and a question on child booster seat - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hello, not a Generation 5 owner yet but working on it. Been following this board for months now and getting a lot of ideas and you guys are giving me the fever BAD!!! I am a previous Gen 2 and Gen 3 owner but currently riding around in an Avalanche. Had a 2003 Monte Carlo SS that I traded in last year when the baby came but my "other half" has said we can get an Camaro SS when the AVY is paid off. GOD LOVE HER

My question is..........has anyone put a child safety seat or booster seat in the back seat? If so, how bad is it? Iam probably going to hate the answer.

I have a Recaro booster seat for my 4 year old. It's not too bad, just need to put the front seat up a bit in front of him. It's not hard to get him in and out. Certainly not any worse than I expected.

It's a good seat...fits fine in the back.

thanks for all the info, by the looks of the responses Iam GOOD TO GO!!!

My next question is; is the passenger seat "quick forward"? Meaning if you tilt the seat back forward, the whole seat will slide forward. My Monte had that and it made it real easy to get in the back.

I also want to say there is a lot of talented people on here, your cars are simply amazing.

Nope but there is a lever in front to slid passenger seat up.

We have TWO child seats in the back. A 1 year old and a 3 year old fit back there fine. My wife and I in the front. Take it cruising on the weekends.

Biggest difference is that you need to provide some source of entertainment for the kiddos. They can't see out the windows. A portable DVD player works wonders.

I have a booster seat in the back for my 7 year old. The seat fits great. Only problem is that it raises her position up some so her feet don't have a lot of room back there since they don't touch the floor.

I have a two year old and will be putting the car seat in the back this coming weekend. We'll see how it works out.

Ok, I didn't check to see which treads those were, but there is a good chance I replied on one of those... lol.

We have a large carseat in the back for our four year old, it is a Graco ( I think ) Natalus , it breaks down over time from a full carseat to a large booster, to eventually, just a puck style booster. We thought it was the best value out there, a little more money now, but it takes the place of three carseats . It's well padded, has it's own cupholder ( the Camaro doesn't have rear seat cupholders ! ), and doesn't look too bad.

oops, forgot to add that the pic was taken right after the car had been washed and the front seat was moved all the way back so we could vacuum the front carpet ! Still, be prepared for footprints on the back of the front seat. We always make our son take his shoes off, it helps. There just isn't a lot of room back there....
