Pretty hilarious that the article says both that sales of the Camaro are down this month AND that there's a 10,000 backlog of orders. That's logically impossible.

I think camaro sales will stay fairly strong for now and then level out for a bit. When mark ups go away and incentives start to take effect it will be right up there with the stang.

Camaro vs. Mustang pricing

I believe the only way that the Camaro can sell more units than the Mustang consistently will be for the Camaro to sell comparable packages by 500+ dollars less than the Mustang. This will ensure that those that just want a fast car, but have no brand loyalty will choose the Camaro over the Mustang and Challenger. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Seems to be some confusion for some people. There is a difference in numbers between cars manufactured and cars SOLD. Any Camaros or Mustangs for that matter sitting on dealer lots not sold don't count. Dont compare manufactured numbers to sales numbers. If GM pumped out 100,000 cars in July and one person had taken delivery then GM sells one car.

Due to the excitement and newness of the Camaro I thought Ford put up extremely amazing sales numbers.

Yea if you want a v6 Automatic on CARS program then do it fast. Some of the people are pushing amendments to increase the MPH requirement. So Camaro LS and LT might drop out.

Do it now if your gonna do it.

Quick – What's the best-selling light-duty pickup truck in America? Did you say the Ford F-150? Not so fast. According to the J.D. Power Information Network (via our friends at PickupTrucks.com), General Motors sold more Chevy Silverado 1500 pickups (119,959 units) in June that Ford sold F-150s (107,778 units), and that's not a fluke.

It seems that the automakers don't actually break out the sales of each pickup line when reporting overall figures, so Ford lumps all F-Series (F-150, F-250, F-350...) sales together when it correctly lays claim to the title of Best-Selling Pickup Line in America. Ford's Super Duty series commands nearly 50-percent of the HD pickup market, which puts the Blue Oval on top of the overall sales race.

Interestingly, all three American automakers picked up full-size pickup market share at the expense of Nissan and especially Toyota, which saw sales of its Tundra plummet from 76,516 units to just 36,106 units in June of 2009 compared to one year ago. Click here for the full breakdown of full-size truck sales data.

ITS THE CHICKS! Mustangs are "chick" cars and that is why they have and will outsell Camaros. Guys buy the GT like they buy the SS but the difference I think is the amount of women who buy the Mustang V6. Hopefully, girls will take a liking to the V6 Camaro like they do the Mustang. Yes, I know some chicks like the V8 but for the most part, chicks go for V6.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but the Ford plant was shut down at least one week for a summer break. It delayed the delivery of my GT500.

Regardless both cars are selling well so we all should be happy......well sometimes I wish they both sold less so our cars don't become a dime a dozen on the road. I'm starting to see a lot of Camaros on the road.

Awesome to hear that the Camaros are selling so well. I think they will continue to in the year to come. I'm just glad to say that my car was included in the July sales. I love it couldnt have asked for anything better.
