I drove a friend's C7 Z51 and didn't feel like I was missing much. I love the C7 looks, but it'd have to be a Z06 or higher for me to consider switching. Plus, you'll be stepping into a much more common car with a base C7. I do love the new vettes though...

Truth be told, I almost pulled the trigger on the C7 Z06... But the thought of being murdered in my sleep by my wife stopped me from going through the process.

I can live to type another day... some would say that was a wise decision

I'm 55 and nowhere near old enough for a vette.

I traded my '15 ZL1 in three weeks ago for a '17 Z06 and I absolutely love it, but I can't lie I do miss the ZL1. I'm an average sized guy so I fit really well in the Vette. Now I have to agree that there are a LOT of older guys driving Corvettes. I'm 48 and they just look at me weird hahaha... I have to admit I miss this forum... it's uhm... friendlier... performance wise the Z06 is pretty spectacular, but the ZL1 was more unique. I wish I had the room and $$$ to have both cars. My kids are grown now so 2 seats are all I need... here's a pic of the new Z06.

His ZL1 was sold before it ever hit the lot. Spoke with the new owner recently on a meet and greet.

FYI I got my Z06 by letting my wife test drive it first. She came back from driving it and I knew the decision was over..... new Z06

I am 12 years younger than you and I drive one. You get much older and getting in and out will be too hard. Funny it is considered an old man car. It is so low that at 65 you better be in shape or you will not be getting into it.

I test drove a Gen 6 Camaro. My head brushed the roof when I adjust to see out. That does not occur in my Z06. Also the Gen 6 feels more cramped to me overall. Massive blind spots that seemed worse than my Gen 5 camaros and the C7 is a ton easier to see out of compared to either. Also 2LZ and above get front parking cameras!!! As a ZL1 owner you all know how nice that is. The Gen 6 ZL1 does not?! (Seriously GM why was that not included?) The trunk in the new Camaro is microscopic even when compared to the Gen 5. The C7 vette trunk is huge!. Also free removable roof which is nice.

That is true, it was a pretty funny situation... I think that helped my trade-in value :-)
