Most M6 guys (or any manual) that dump or rev higher than 3k rpm at the line have more difficulty without a lot of spinning.

Before I had any actual drag experience I noticed a lot of manual cars started off the line slower but once past 30-60 ft were able to fly.

My own experience (at least so far) is I get smoother launches out of my M6 (I am N/A with the stock clutch but no cam) when I hit the tree around 2K rpm.

+1

2000 - 2500 launches here. No dumping of the clutch. Ride it out through about 4000 - 4500 before Im completely off of it.

Way to easy to spin with an M6. 2500 is about where I'm launching also. Any more and I spin my way to a 2.xx 60'. Launching around 2500, I've cut 1.72's on the stock pzeros. I've had no luck with NT05R's because I don't have a line lock yet.

Now how do you do 1.72's? I have a 2010 ss m6 with 315's nitto invo and the best I've done is 2.2. Any tricks up ur sleeves u might want to share?

First, ditch the Invo's. lol. They are way worse than the pzeros. I hated those things. They are too slick to get good grip.

Keep your RPMs around 2500, start to leave before you mash the gas and keep the clutch coming out smoothly. If you feel spin ease up on the gas and keep slipping the clutch.

I also have 3.91's and a Trutrac but was getting 1.9's and the rare 1.88 (once) before the swap.

They are much better for track work than stock but are a terrible choice for a drag strip. Invos are my current DD tire but I'll be switching to pilot super sports next season.

Practice with your Invos but you should eventually buy a good set of DR for the occasional track day.

Its my dd so I'll just have to hold off on other tires. I'm much more interested in how it performs on the street. I'll still take it to the track this weekend any other pointers guys

most are riding out clutch, also hard dumping will put a lot of strain on the slave cylinder..nothing worse then blowing it out and having to get towed home...after blowing out 2 , I went auto....not worth the down time and expense...especially if you are 500 miles from home..imo

Track was well prep'd and the car took off like a rocket. By best on DR's has been 2.01 on an unprep'd track.

I've had my best luck lauching at lower rpms where some like leaving at 4k-4500, my car seems to like lower rpms.

Im launching at 2500 as well. My goal without any more mods is 1.7s. That should put me in high 12.2 or low 12.3 I imagine with cooler temps out. Good job on doing that with an M6 om stock tires!
