Finally someone explains why 1LE's have a 3.91 gear. if you do the math for the overall ratio in each gear you will find that the ratios for the ss vs the 1le are almost identical, except for 4th as both are 1-1.

Exactly - the MM6/3.91 is all about fixing the 3-4 gap the M10/3.45 cars suffer, at the cost of starting line ratio potential.
