Removing vinyl wrap from the hood

I am thinking about removing the matte black wrap from the hood since it looks a little faded with streaks and water spots it's hard to keep it clean.. anyone else removed the wrap from the hood on their 1le?

When mine gets a little worse I'm going to have it wrapped again but in a semi gloss black.

I used a vinyl cleaner on my matte black Rally stripes and it cleaned off very well. There were a lot of water spots, and a crusty white layer of something on them when I bought the car. I used the cleaner then a vinyl conditioner on them. The conditioner did make them a bit shinier into an almost satin but you don't have to put that on.

gm part#s
cleaner: 88861401
conditioner: 88861406

Agreed. Looks great and easier to keep clean. My car never sees bad weather and it's still a pain. Especially when other people feel the need to put there grubby fingers on the hood. Lol

I replaced the original wrap because it was spotted up and looked like crap. That wrap lasted a year and a half. I had a satin black wrap put on last time and it looks great and is way easier to clean than the matte. Been 8 months now and no problems.

Why not get it painted instead of dealing with the wrap? I’ve had my car for 5 years and haven’t had any issues with the wrap but if I did I think I would have the hood painted instead of getting another wrap.
