who cares if it's old news, lots of us haven't seen it, and I'm interested to watch it now that I read the thread.

Yeah saw it...was disappointed it was put up against a Mercedes...of course its twice the car...its twice the price!!!

I'm going to the taping of the US Top Gear next week. I wonder what cars will be tested.

lol putting against the amg was a really stupid arguement.

Twice the price but I don't think twice the car, think of what another 30k-40k could do to your Camaro. That Merc wouldn't stand a chance...

We'll se what an additional 15-25k or so will do to a camaro soon enough! (z-28).

Overall i was underwhelmed by the top gear camaro test. I wasn't expecting them to like it much because its not a very "european" car, nor is it really a "sports car". Its a muscle car and those guys never like muscle cars.

However, i was expecting a slightly more thorough test of it or at least james or jeremy in addition to richard to drive it or maybe even just a comparison with the mustang.

It did look it was having some issues going around the track though

Comparison should have been CTS-V vs. Mercedes AMG. That episode was a POS.

If you look, it was an automatic the Stig was driving, so I'm wondering if it had some of the same torque management issues some of the other auto's had. I've seen what a simple tune for an auto does and it at least gives a good 3-4 tenths of a second at the track. I imagine a road course would give similar results.

That is interesting. Was it just the test car that was automatic or was Hammond's car automatic too?

i remembe watching an episode the went to Nevade and the tall gooy guy was driving a ZR1,hammond in a chllenger,and dr slow in a CTS-V.All of them were splooging in their pants the whole time.especially the guy who was bashing the camaro,he couldnt get enough of the ZR1.the one in the cts v was kind of negative but once they hit the twisties he went full blown crazy for love.but ya **** mercedes did you see the dash when he sat in the merc?ive enver liked luxury cars due to how complicated they are LOOK AT ALL THOSE BUTTONS.i have a feeling people who drive mercedes never take the time to fully tune and customize the inside dash controls and other electronics to there full potential because..its a waste of time.we can all agree they put quite a feew options in those cars that would be more then a waste of time to bother with.

And i wouldent pay 50k more for a car that dose 2 seconds better on a track
