Our District Manager came into the dealership one day - asking Tom and I to order some Chevettes - we said "OK -- just don't have them show up until our parents go to Arizona..."

(at the time, I was on lay-off from GM - this was during the Carter years -- high unemployment - the Steel Industry was shutting down in Pittsburgh, and inflation was at double digits - as was interest rates.......not a good time in Western Pennsylvania -- or for the rest of the nation for that matter...)

.............well.......................

There was a lot of yelling and carrying-on the day they showed up -

We sold every one of 'em.......and made money doing it............
My Dad had a LUV when I was a kid. I always liked that truck but it was SLOW. My Dad used to joke that the hamsters under the hood had to run really fast to get that thing up to speed.

He also told me that when he had his Camaro, there was a guy that would show up the drag strip with a 427 equipped LUV that would just smoke everyone!

My Mom used to have a Chevette. I remember coming down the driveway in that car and trying to do my best Dukes of Hazzard impression by opening the door and rolling out of the onto the grass. My Mom grabbed me and slammed on the brakes. I got in so much trouble for trying that. Haha.

I'm assuming that's where the signage for the dealership gets affixed to the cladding?

There is a hole on each side for downlights.

We are still shooting for the 2nd week of December. There are still a lot of details that need done, plus of course an occupancy permit.
