Tire pressure/leak/dirt between rim and tire
I have one tire on my 2013 SS/RS that has a slow leak. Every few weeks I need to refill to get the pressure where it needs to be.
I have brought the car to be checked out at a tire place and a local mechanic and they are telling me there is no leak. They have checked the tire and the beading. I have checked on the Camaro5 forum and the closest that I have come to a possible solution has been from Mightgrasshopper. He explained that when dirt gets between the tire and the rim it can cause a leak. He also said that there was a TSB for it - I have looked everywhere and cannot find it!! Does anyone happen to know what the TSB number is? I have tried to contact Customer care through the forum as well, but I have gotten no response Thanks for the help!! |

Find a better tire place!
Things they should do: Take the tire off, polish the lip on the wheel and seal the inside of the wheel. The last time I did this with Aluminum wheels, the problem was solved. Cost $25 per wheel. |

Just had to do this on one of our cars too, he said it was pretty common. We tried several times to fine the leak. Finally laid the wheel on the ground and put water on the wheel and saw the bubbles. Never showed in a tire tank.

Thanks for the information. Since my first post , I am still dealing with this issue. This has been so frustrating. Its hard to feel confident driving the car, when you are always thinking about the tire pressure and how it reacts to your driving environment!!

Did you have the tire removed and the rime polished and sealed? |
