That;s good news, fingers crossed this new top won't be full of ****-ups like the last one and maybe I'll reconsider buying a convertible.

You know, the thing about it is I don't regret buying a convert.

Of course I am driving the 11 hours to Woodhaven MI at the end of the month to have a few things addressed including the top by Gerry @ Rodgers Chevrolet. I don't feel confident with any of the dealers around here to address the top issue and Gerry knows his shit. Should I HAVE to make the drive, No. Do I want it done right at a competent Service Department, hell yes. I realize that is not a solution for everyone and not everyone has the luxury to travel like that but I do and that is my solution to the problem

My wife and I were driving by a local dealer and stopped in to look at a vert they had. After talking to a salesman for about 10 minutes I asked if GM had gotten all the top problems fixed. He looked at me funny and said " What problems?" I told him about all the problems I have read on here and about the ones my son has has and he says, "I've never heard about any problems." I rolled my eyes and told him to do some research and left.

Just to let you know this was not my dealership but the one in Kingsport tn.

What percentage of the converts you looked at had acceptable tops with regard to the "wave"?

I also drove an hour to take it to a dealership(even though there are many closer dealerships) that I thought would correct the broken 5th bow correctly the 1st time.

Do you know if these new tops in production are the entire mechanism plus canvas and if they'll fit our existing 2011 and 2012 model verts?

Do not know. I will make a phone call tomorrow to see if I can get an answer to that question. My gut tells me it is just the canvas top but I will let the forum know.

I got a call from my dealer today and my top came in. When they pulled open the crate, it was an entire top assembly. All new hardware, water management and seals. They are bolting it on tomorrow, so please keep your fingers crossed and pray for us. He already checked it against the TSB recommendations and it is an improved design that has taken into account the changes the TSB recommended be made.

At the same time they are fixing the dash bubbling issue so I am expecting it back on Thursday. I will let you all know how it does. Please say a quick prayer that it works as easily as he says it is going to.

This is VERY GOOD, REPUTABLE info. Remember... I'm patiently waiting for my "final" fix....to end my BBB claim.

My (and my dealers) understanding is yes, and yes. I'll confirm for you by the end of the month-early July.

Here is an update on my top. They have had my car for over a week the past 3 days trying to figure how to attach the tension bars. Well they called me this morning and said they have figured out the problem, I was very happy at first. Then they told me the problem was it was the wrong top. So now my $50000 dollar car has no top and the dealer had no clue to when he would be able to get a correct top in. Leaving me with a camaro with no top period. I dare somebody to have a worst situation than this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do they have you in a rental car? I feel very fortunate that they sent us a full top assembly. I sent my dealer this thread and told the service manager to read 100% of it.
