Suspension Question

I was curious if anyone has put zl1 rear springs in their SS and noticed a difference on their 60?

Right now the car is Cam, fbo, lsa swapped with roughly 10lbs and dead hooks on 20" Mickey's but is all stock suspension (A6 currently). I have a mirrors edge 15 conversion kit along with a BMR ARB I'll be installing but am afraid to hurt the cars ability to launch.

If your car dead hooks, what are your 60' times?

Just been to a airport 1/8 event and a few street hits. Here's a video, no burnout or anything and on a soft tune.

Well from what I saw you really need to take off hard at a prepped track to see where you are at. To get a descent 60' with a stock converter you will have to hold the brakes on at the tree and raise your rpms to about 1500, then stomp on it.

As far as changing to ZL1 springs, I would no. It depends what your goals are. Without getting time slips at a dragstrip you are just shooting in the dark.

If you are going as far as a 15" conversion and BMR 35mm drag bar, i would look into strange or viking coilvers that match the proper application spring rate with the correct shock compression and rebound settings.

ZL1's are great but their suspension is based around that magnetic ride stuff, it may not equate out properly to better 60" times. Pinion angle should be looked into as well if you are serious about developing a good 60ft.

I'm still sorting the car out, most of the stuff I'll be doing will be on non prepped surfaces. Which the car does well on now (compared to others).

Right now I have the mirrors edge 15 kit in the box along with the bmr ARB, bmr trailing arms, and a set of bmr 1.25 springs.

Thinking about doing the bmr lowers instead of the modified stock however. Also, a friend offered me a good deal on some Lakewood 30-70's for the front. May look into to coil overs for the rear if I can find a good deal on them.

Just trying to find a good plan of attack. I noticed that it seems like a lot of guys start having issues after lowering their car but I'm tired of it looking like a 4*4 lol.
