315 squared?
Hey fellas,
I have what is probably a common question, just can't find the answer anywhere I search. I want to square my tires and wheels. I have 315/35/20 on the rear, 285/35/20 fronts. I want to run 315/35/20 all the way around. Problem is, I don't know if the 315's would fit right on the 10" fronts or even fit in front? Or would 11" fit in the front, if needed? 2013 ZL1 Convertible. Anyone's experience with this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

315 is a bit big for a 10" rim.
You might be able to fit a 305 on a 10.5" rim, but in front, the tire height will likely contact the strut- unless you go to a 30 series tire. The real issue is finding a wheel with the right offset/backspace. Look at the Z/28 wheel specs and go from there. |

This is an option for Z28 wheels, not OE but lots of guys here have them and I’ve not really seen anyone with issues.
You can buy 4 11” wheels from MRR even though it’s not listed as an option below. https://www.phastekperformance.com/C...z28-wheels.htm

I have run a 285 square setup from Factory Reproductions since a couple of months after new 2013. The OEM and GY,s stay in the basement for an occasional track day. The rims have performed very well and they have every GM rim with correct offsets. Probably not as cheap as when I got mine as then 975.00 for set of 4 gloss black with TPS sensors.

Wider tires fit almost any rim, the sidewalls will look like balloons if the rim isn't
ideal for the tire. 315s will FIT just fine, but what will the sidewalls look like... FIT means FIT, and does not mean "WILL WORK" or "LOOK GOOD." |

I want to go squared. 285's don't cut it on the rear of the Z. This is a cruiser car with the occasional stop light run. I want to be able to rotate, not rub, hook decently and not look stupid. Does that clarify? Hahah! Thanks for the responses guys, I appreciate it. |

You are stock, I am plus 700 so I have managed to whip plenty of butt with with a 285 Michelin M/S capping a best at track of 11.25 at 124.9. But yes you need to know what you are doing but you said its a cruiser so didn't think you were hunting the best 0 - 60's.. Best of luck.. |

I'm no longer stock. Haven't updated my list, but I'm not to your numbers yet. Regardless, I can't keep my SS hooked with the 275's that are on that. That car is around 500whp now. That's how this started, I took he tires and wheels from the Z and swapped with the SS. The 275's on the Z feels like I'm on ice. I'll check out the Michelin M/S's. Thanks. |

So, did a little verification of sizing for myself:
315's on 11's or 10's do not fit the FRONT of the 5th Gen ZL1. Not even close on the 11", will rub on the 10". I went to re-swap the rims from the SS back to the ZL1, and decided to try it out. Not a chance. Last edited by GAFreddy; 11-20-2021 at 12:11 PM. Reason: Important word left out |

That's news to me. I've been running 315/25/20 Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the stock rear 11" rims of my 2013 ZL1 for the past 8 years with NO issues whatsoever.

I run 325/30/20s on the rear with no problem. He must be referring to the fronts.
