Question on Camming L99
Hi guys. So I was looking into camming my Camaro it has barely 28k miles and a L99. I was wondering what kits I should look into or what components I will need. I want an extremely loud chop and don't mind if I need to buy a stall converter.

I'd recommend calling the people at GPI best in the business and always go above and beyond! They can set you up with whatever your looking to do and be there for you every step along the way. My 2010 with a N/A L99 just put down an 11.4 quarter mile 3+ years after being built with what they have to offer. Bonus it sounds mean as hell with that old school chop and still averages around 17mpg!

I would say it's what your goals are. Do you want 400 hp, 450 hp, or even 500 hp? Do you plan on going to the track or just DD?

If you're looking for sound a stage 1 setup will give you sound. If you're looking for performance go with a stage 4 or some custom grind. Milling the heads will add a little higher compression and can get a little more noise out, but will really give you a performance advantage. (Don't forget to get the heads ported if you're milling them too.)
Honestly if you're just after noise, get a lower stage cam and add some cutouts or diverters.

"Stages" mean nothing. one vendors "stage 1" can be equivalent to anothers "Stage 3". Talk to BTR or someone who knows cams and tell them what you want, maybe get a custom grind or they likely have one out of the box that will fit your needs. You want loud as hell? Corsa extreme or Borla Atak no cats. There are others too. Mine is loud as hell, ear piercing loud, a bit raspy and higher pitched but no drone on the cabin.

+1 on GPI performance, their SS1 has great power and chop, I've seen SS1 equipped L99's make anywhere from 440 to 460whp with headers and CAI, I think any stages after that you gain about maybe 8-10whp, and moves the power more up top, here's my SS1 GPI cam
