Thanks for patiently waiting. CTS-V guys have ran 1.69 on stock PS2s with 26 psi. Another guy ran a 1.71. Those cars are heavier with narrower tires. If you don't believe them I am sure you can join their site and call them out, kinda like what you did here.

3 of your 5 posts so far have been trying to discredit GM's times.

I know it's uncommon and I have done it in my Grand National before but this car just ran these times on regular wallmart cheapy tires.Check out the 60 foot.

Edit: It has run well into the nines with drag radials. This is all on a stock junkyard 5.3.

Did this car ever get back to the track? I would like to see it now with some miles on it and some 26" tires.

Before I post proof of a RWD doing this, how much money are you willing to bet ?

Except didn't a member of this site claim that they were present at this event and that GM definately made its passes on DR's.

Was he lying? How did Henessey, Livernois, all the mags, the few customers who purchased the car manage with their 60's?

Is it far fetched to think GM didn't fudge?

Did you change car numbers, because car #319 on the slips ran 8.50 @ 158 in the 2nd timeslip and 11.43@121 in the first one. Looks like the track guy entering car numbers screwed up.

A good 60 foot on streets is about 1.85 seconds. A very good result is something in the 1.7x second range. Here is the list of CTS-V results for the older, more portly sister car with a little less stock horspower. The ones to note are the stock ones. Also, you will quickly notice, that the autos are much faster than manuals down the quarter mile.

For those who have the ZL1, a few simple mods yield HUGE gains. My first time out, I ran something like 12.6@111 MPH until I figured out the pressure bypass backspacing item. I baselined the car at 428 RWHP on a dyno. Now, with a pulley, intake and a tune, on drag radials, I can do very low 11 second runs (11.23@124.5 is best to date). Hoping to best that my next time out with some new updates.

Here is a link for reference on some CTS-V runs.

OP- awesome runs for no miles and just some slicks and skinnies. Can't wait to see some more times. Can't wait to start seeing some ZL1's at Va Motorsports Park.

Hey quick question just bought the same rims and hoosier slicks... I was wondering if you had to screw into the rims with those to keep the slicks in place and what psi do you run them at? Thanks

This is a very interesting post, I'm sorry I missed it when it started. Probably because I didn't get my ZL1 until '13. I see there were many questions about the ability of the stock tires to pull 1.6 60' times. 3 years has passed since this was started and I'm curious how many people have beaten these times. I have gotten 1.66 60' times on the stock rubber, and I know of someone else who has gotten 1.65. What about the drag wheel setup... has anyone run faster than these incredible times?
