my parts guy said no change in torque spec for the coupler to transmission bolt/nut. the nut is to be thrown away every time, the bolt is reusable.

Nope, the bolt is 1 use only because it is torqued until it permanently yields (deforms in length). Nut can be reused as it is not torqued until it yields.

Is the car modded? How much rwhp?
I made 760 rwhp on the stock trans, driveshaft, rear diff, axels, bolts, etc. So something is wrong here... Does ARP make bolts for this application? If so, I’d try them! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

My speculation here: the nuts are locking style, so once used they are deformed and do not lock as well if reused.

It says discard the bolts and nuts. I've resused mine. Maybe I'll replace them later. Lol

LONG TERM UPDATE: the newer improved GM bolts I installed years ago are still holding up to all the hard use I have given them. I actually have never reused ANY of the fasteners as they usually flew off on to the road when they failed. |

Look at last picture
Discard nuts, remove bolts and nuts This description goes with diagram in 3rd picture pertaining to coupler to transmission output flange attachment. All bolts/nuts must be replaced except the bolts attaching coupler to trans. Those can be replaced, but don’t have to be

What a coincidence. I’ve been putting off an aluminum drive shaft and this gets bumped. Scared straight..pun intended. Ordered today!

You really cant buy the old ones. The parts guy will give you the newer (revised) ones when you order them. They look slightly different.
