Mid-lift car hoists

I am thinking about buying a mid-lift car hoist for the garage and am looking for some input.
I know they are not the ideal choice but I think it is my only choice.
I have a 2 car garage with ceiling just over 9 feet. Most mid-lifts I have seen will raise a car 48-50 inches.
I understand that a scissors type lift will make access to the center of the car difficult due to interference from the lift itself.
I've seen price ranges from 1500-3000.00.
I like the Australian made Cartar brand is very nice. It is entirely self contained (no separate cart with pump and reservoir) and can be rolled around with car on the lift. www.cartar.com.au/
Any input ,suggestions or websights would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Kind of like the EZ Lift -- its portable and uses an electric drill!
