Don't give up on the 6th gens just yet
Sales are apparently skyrocketing, around here at least. Last summer I would be lucky to see 1 every couple of weeks. Now I'm seeing about 2-3 per day, I'd say only about half of them are SS models and I have yet to see any 1LE's or ZL1's. I'll have to start keeping track but they are quickly catching up to the amount of 5th gens I see on a regular basis. Have you guys noticed this as well?

I see 5th and 6th gens all the time in and around the Charlotte area. Saw a G6 ZL1 convertible yesterday at lunch. I would say about 60% are V6’s around here, with the remaining 40% divided by the SS and ZL1 models (maybe 5% ZL1’s). Not too many SS’s are 1LE’s. But, If I can track one down; that may be my next car. 5th or 6th gen depending on the price of a used one when the time comes to trade up. Regardless, I see camaros from the last 8 years of production on a daily basis(and many are 6th gens), and I only have an 11 mile commute to work.

Well I've been noticing the prices of used 6th gens coming down, so that might be it too

In year 3 now of production as mentioned Im sure its because used ones are becoming more available. Your not going to see the 6th gen all the sudden fly off the lots as new.

That's a good point, they could be used. I saw several '16 1SS's for the same price as my car or even less and I almost went that route. I just couldn't do the cloth interior, that and there seemed to be a lot of complaints on Camaro6 about various issues popping up with them... which is to be expected with a first year model. Still happy with my decision.

There is about a 50-50 mix of 5th and 6th gens in our County. The majority of them are V'6s and the ZL1 is still a rather rare bird. There are even less SS Sedans...

Just from listening to my kids and their friends, that generation seems more enamored with the 6th Gen. I some ways the 5th appealed to an older buyer. Though I know some Millennials like ours too.

How old are your kids. When I go to cruise nights I get kids as young as 7 or 8 looking at the car. I also notice alot of dads with teenage sons spending alot of time checking it out. Most people dont evem know there is a 6th gen let alone deciding between the two. GM really doesnt do a good job promoting the Camaro.

While I love my 5th Gen, the only reason why I don't have a 6th gen is the obvious reason: Money
From what I've heard and read, the ATS-based chassis is a much better platform than the Holden-based 5th gen. I prefer the looks of the 5th gen better but I think the new platform is well worth the trade off. Also, the interior of the 6th wins easily over the 5th.

Moved from Chicagoland to Nashville. Chicagoland of course has tons of fifth and sixth gens. Hell even my brother has a 17 ZL1. Obviously not as much around Nashville. They love their trucks much more. Lol
I did have my 1le parked at the end of the driveway and tbe president of the music city Camaro club drove by and we got to talking. I really need to join, I've just so damn busy the last few weeks |

For me, the entire reason I got a Camaro was the V8 and nostalgic feel. For the nostalgia the 5th Gen is better. I can see how GM has started evolving the next gens to appeal to the up and coming drivers. 4 cylinder twin turbo is just too far though ha ha. Keep that stuff for the light weight imports.
