got the universal 4 link frame. competition engineering part number 28025. leveled the car in 6 places and started cutting the pan/frame out. going to start welding the new frame in shortly.

also ordered from moser a fab 9 rear with gun drilled/pro flange 40 spline axles, 4 link brackets loose on the tubes, wilwood dynalite rear drag brake kit, and 5/8 screw in studs. will be picking up a set of coilovers this weekend or next. once I get the rear installed it won't be long until it's back on the ground.

also installed the mounts for the tablet on the dash.

I have everything ordered for the rear except wheels/tires and third member.

I ordered the magnum wishbone locator
(4) 3/4-16 right hand thread rod ends
(4) 3/4-16 left hand thread rod ends
lower coilover axle tube mounts
pair of strange double adjustable coilovers with 12" 125lb springs
jerry bickel heavy duty 4 link bars 1 1/2", .120 wall

also picked up the jerry bickel countersink depth tool for when I do my front/rear lexan I can bolt them in for easy removal.

more pictures to come soon, hopefully this week I will have the factory frame cut out and the new frame welded in. lotso of hours and sheet metal work ahead of me. stay tuned

Thank you! hopefully it all pans out for me

so today I finished cutting the rear frame out and installing the new frame. it was a very tedious process but everything is perfectly level, front to back, side to side. just need to add some more bracing and get a buddy to tig weld the chromoly cage to the steel frame

all the moser stuff showed up today along with the 4 link bars. still waiting on coilovers and wishbone. from there it's going to be adding the tubs, sheet metal, and wheel/tires to set it back on the ground

got the back 2 bars on the cage tacked in, along with bracing in the rear added to the factory frame. need to get my bottle refilled for the mig welder before I can go any further. still wanting to add a few more bars/bracing before I start sheet metal work

for black Friday I ordered all 4 wheels. racestar, I know they're cheap but i will upgrade later. fronts are 15x3.75, rears are 15x14.

just waiting on the coilovers to show up before I can start installing the housing. shooting for this coming weekend. in a few weeks it will be back on all 4 again.

got the rear under the car today and everything tacked up that needs to be tig welded. I will be installing the anti roll bar when it gets on all 4 as it needs to be at ride height.

test fit the axles and the wheels. fit perfect with lots of clearance to go to a 16 wide wheel if I want in the future.

got the 4 link bars and wishbone welded up. need to add the support for the slide tube yet. got the housing painted with some chassis and rollbar paint. next is gonna be the suspension parts.

continuing to add bars and gussets to the 4 link frame. it's now sturdy enough to go on the lift to complete welding.

got the rear all braced. tires drilled for wheel screws, tires mounted. rear centered and the weight of the car on it to see how it looked. very happy with everything.

still need to cut a little bit out for clearance around the tires. install anti roll bar, set axle centerline/pinion angle, wheel tubs and the rest of the sheet metal.

tires are hoosier 32x14.5w stiff sidewalls.

Man, I hope you can take this to CFest!

Do you use a flux core mig or argon mix? Some of those welds ‘appear’ like flux core.. very nicely done!

Love the ‘Stopping Your Ass’ flag ;o)

75/25 mix. it had been years since I welded before this. haven't needed to with my new job. tig welding it left to my buddy though for sure. I'm hoping to have it done by then though!
