i don't run with the tray during the spring, summer, and fall. i do install it in the winter to help keep things a little more toasty under the hood
I had dual hood vents in my old hood for heat removal and to remove excess air from under the hood at high speeds. I drove the car in the rain numerous times and never an issue.... Rain water gets under hoods on all cars when driving in the rain.

True. Gunna order the tray and fit it to my vent. Then probably just leave it off until winter like you

all the time, its my only car. so far so good! if the car is going to sit outside a lot, and potentially get rained on a lot while sitting still, i'd put the tray in for peace of mind. removing the tray for me takes a minute or two with the wing nuts

heat removal and the pressure build-up were my main reasons for adding the vent. rain doesn't bother me much unless the car sits in a downpour... then i'm a little concerned because my intake takes up half of the vent lol

What intake are you running... Here is mine... It's the mock up test version. We like it (performance is amazing), so now will finish the drawings and mill it out of two billets. One for the top shell and one piece for the lower half. The milled piece will be very smooth with rounded contours rather than hard lines of the sheet metal piece. We built this piece in the shop.....

The throttle body is a 102 mm manual body. We kept having the blade shut on the electronic bodies.

It looks good.
I give props to anyone who has the balls of steel to cut their own hood.

Thanks, that was a last minute oh crap kinda installation (I have intentions of cleaning it up and making them look nicer.) The valve covers that come with the heads don't have coils bosses on them. They have a lubricant tube inside fed by a -3 line from my oil supply (dry sump). The oil sprays on each side of all of the coil springs keeping them cool and lubricated. We run a pretty decent sized cam with big big lumps and we spin the motor to 9000 rpm... I don't want to break a spring and touch a piston with a valve.

Now cut the fenders for the 3-D vents & the top of the rear fenders and put the Corvette rear vents in.
