New OEM or have yours rebuilt by a quality rebuilder. Keep the heat away from it and you will be fine . Check your flywheel or flex plate to make sure its not your problem .

Oem cool and all but I kinda want to upgrade just seeing what everyone thinks is the best for a modded motor heads, cam, intake, higher compression. Issue is multiple hot starts, the car struggles to start in about 96 degree weather

Do all of those mods and adjustments that's mentioned in that thread and it should cure your issue.

I think someone on the 1LE.R page on FB did a Gen6 starter supposed to have a lot more torque.

This is from Zach at Katech.

It could be tune related also. I'm on my OEM 40k mile starter, working just fine on a 427 but the compression isnt high 10.3:1.

Does the engine turn over slow, or does it crank quickly several times and not start?

I'm in Florida, plenty of heat here.

Installed this on my 2010 Camaro Ss! This finally fixed my hot start problems! I can now take my car anywhere and start it up again the moment I turn it off instead of waiting 30minutes to an hour with the OEM starter. If your Camaro is upgraded and having hot start problems, I highly recommend the CVR Protroque starter!

True that on the tune my tune rn is not ideal bc of the hot weather and humidity it’s really rich atm and I have a thinner head gasket I think a felpro 0.048”
