Passenger Seat

Hello everyone...new to site but been reading for a while...great info! Has anyone tried raising the passenger seat? both wife and kid can barely see over dash. Have searched but no real info.

Thanks!!

Maybe have the wife or kid sit on a cushion. I would think raising the seat might cause problems with your head hitting the roof. Even if you did raise it, how would you accommodate a tall passenger when your family isn't riding? Think of a gen5 as a factory chop top. Not seeing out very well is characteristic of the design.

You get used to the"chopped" effect. I went from a Saturn Vue to a Camaro ss/2. If your child cant see over the front dash, that creates a saftey issue. Might want to consider that.

good point, how old is the kid? Until 6yr and 60 lbs they have to be in a child seat and sitting in the back.

This has been discussed on here before. There really isn't any safe fix outside of a cushion.

Could there be a way, with unlimited budget of course, to take a 6way adjustable set up and modify it to work on the passenger seat??

Well an easier way would be to buy the passenger seat from a 2012 model. As they will have 6 way power

thanks all...kid is 11 years old and wife all of 5'2"...they just complain about visibility and if anyone had found a safe way to fix the seat, I would do it...might try the 2012 idea...mine is 2011 2SS/RS, no passenger power seat. its a 3rd car, not family car however
