Exclamation Metra users/experts pls. come here

hey guys,

I'm considering to add the Metra kit, and i got this question in my mind

add a new head unit Sony,Alpine,Clarion etc... will it improve the sound quality?

i have the BA system + the factory sub

plus if my head unit has blutooth built in can i control the phone features ie: answering and ending call through the steering wheel?

ps. i don't have OnStar

and finally for those who installed the rear view camera, how hard was it
and how did you get it to work can you show me your set up

I would really appreciated if someone can clarify these things

i got a pioneer and yes, the sound quality is much better.

yes, i believe if the head unit has bluetooth, it's all you need.

the camera has it's own plugin on the head unit and you just gotta run the cable to the rear of the car to the camera itself.

I have the metra kit with pioneer avic x920bt I can use my phone and thru the system I never take the phone out of my pocket it syncs up automatically and it has a phone menu on the pioneer with all my contacts. I also added the backup camera it was the best thing ever it is always helpful to be able to see more of what is behind the car.

You can run your cables there if you like the location. It's a mini usb and aux connector.

I bought a 6ft. male/female USBextension cable, ran it down the console, and used one of my old phone USB cables to connect to the factory port. I didn't use aux because my unit has an input on the front, and with bluetooth, didn't see the point...
