I've had my car tuned again recently and they tuned out the 420 and 430 codes for the cats but the permanent codes are still there and I need to get it to pass emissions for registration. Being permanent codes it takes a certain amount of miles and/or ignition cycles for them to clear. How long does that usually take?
Car has LT headers and cam. Not getting new codes or CEL, just the old codes that take time to drop off the log.

You took the cats out...ran the car..got codes.. then tune? In that order?
My understanding is.. the only way to get rid of the permanent code is to reinstall the cats until the code disappears. Disable the codes BEFORE removing the cats again!! I think??

Buddy of mine had a tune, took the battery out over the winter, had emission codes appear this summer. It took about a 100 miles. Drive it, stop and go traffic. You can google it to confirm its the same thing your taking about
