Found end link out of rear sway bar and threads boogered with nut gone

I was about to install my trailing arms and seen the end link that goes into the rear sway bar just sitting there out of the hole and the threads are smashed. Nut is gone. If someone could give me some insight on how to fix this and what nut I will need!!! I wonder how this effected the rear handling of the car?

Stock or aftermarket sways? If stock take it in for warranty, if aftermarket you may need to buy new end links!

Is is aftermarket eibach sways. I think I just forgot to tighten it. Livernois said they felt a vibration in my rear end this may have been why if so that was 3k miles ago!!! I used a tap and die set and fixed the threads and got a new shoulder nut. Ill keep a close eye on it and plan to order some aftermarket better ones anyway.

Ewww! get rid of the stock Endlinks and go with Aftermarket ones... those stock endlinks are easily bendable.

600HP-lpe: do you know of any good custom car shops in NH, for Tinting windows, clear bra installed, and sway bars ans end links, not much in Vermont.

If you want quiet operation, you will want Pedders OE Quiet High Efficiency Endlinks.

Thanks for your help Pete.

As for the vibration, I doubt the loose endlink was the source. Vibrations are usaually rotational: wheels, rotors, driveshaft...

I would agree with Pete on the vibration, it is an issue with one or more of the rotating parts on your car.

The end link not being connected generally just takes the sway bar out of the equation. However that will change the handling and balance of the car.
Depending on the car we sometimes disconnect just one side when it rains. just to make it a little softer for the track.
The end links that are now available from Pedders are of excellent quality and will not start to rattle after a period of time like some others will.

It may be the wheels then with some burn outs on the tires. lol. I dont feel the vibration on the street but they noticed it on the dyno I guess.

If you burn them some more they may self-balance

jsharp,

Our endlinks are the workhorse of Camaro street cars and race cars, with street durability and reliability. GM chose to use these exact endlinks on the Chevrolet Camaro SSX. We have been running these exact spherical endlinks on Camaro's since they came out, and Corvettes for 5+ years. If its good enough for GM, it should be a consideration for you if you ever need to upgrade. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
