I'm new to the gen 5 camaro and haven't educated myself on what will and will not work on the 2012' V6. Would someone explain to me why we can't have normal headers.

Because your exhaust manifold is built into the cylinder heads.

Ok! That makes sense. Just not sure why they'd do a thing like that? I'm sure there could be some improving done with a little porting. HeHe!

Cool

Are there any teams for owners of V8 SS? Just curious as I will be one in January.

Edit: as soon as I posted this and read another thread, I see someone with a "Team L99" signature. Sorry for the post.

I wrote this to one of our other members... The 2012 v6 has a new engine called the LFX. The main difference between the two LFX/LLT is that the LFX has one big pipe on each side that air passes through on it's way to the exhaust. The 10-11 model v6 (LLT) has a set of three pipes on each side. The other small difference in the engine is a new maf (mass air flow) censor for the 2012. This is why company's are needing to update there intakes to the new maf. Cold air Inductions is the only company to do it. Also since there are differences to the undercarriage of the convertible, cat back exhausts need to be updated as all current models wont fit. More info here...
