Gotta question bout my z28

So i recently purchsed a 1981 z28 from a friend of my dads, it runs, the paints alrigfht but mainly it needs valve seals, my father has a set of heads of a 60's small bloick chevy, and my question is, will these heads fit on an lm1?

please dont flame or make me look stupid, i'm just trying to find the fastest way to stop my car from burning oil.

Where should we start? The first thing I would do is go to http://www.mortec.com/
This is the best website I have found for identifying heads and/or any Chevy casting numbers. This way you know what you are dealing with.

Examples:
  • What is the CC (Combustion Chamber) size, 64cc 76cc 80cc ect..
  • If the heads are from the early to mid sixties they might not have accessories holes (alt, aircon, power steering ect).
  • What size the intake and exhaust valves are? 194 intake 150 exhaust ect.
  • Are they High performance, passenger car, or truck heads ect.
  • Did they come on a 262, 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, 400?

This is what I would worry about:
  • Do they need to be rebuilt also?
  • Will I drop my compression ratio or increase it to much?
  • Is the original engine in your Camaro stock or moded?

There are so many variables when it comes to this issue. Spit some info back at me and I give you my opinion on what you should do.
