But why the bigger brake rotors? Wouldn't they need to be stock parts to certify it?

I think the guy who took the pic is the father of a poster on corvetteforum. There are other pics as well, but the corvettes are covered and the Camaro is uncovered.

I bet its emissions high altitude tuning...they are checking the camaros too. Probably means the 6.2 rumor in the vette is true.

If you want a 1LE withOUT the hood wrap, just order one and peel it off. Its a vinyl wrap and removable. I did that with my car. My 2SS had stripes and I had the dealer remove them and prep the car without them so I could buy it. I didnt want any stickers on my car.

I think most people know its a sticker by now. The OP was saying it could be 1LE minus the hood wrap OR another model.

Could be either 430hp LT1 for SS/1LE or 486hp LT4 for ZL1? I think it is likely the LT1 for 2014. LT4 won't be ready until 2015.

Are the rear brake rotors on the ZL1 any larger than the SS rotors? Could be the model we all want which shall remain nameless or they could be testing a brake upgrade for the 1LE. Your guess is as good as mine.

According the GM website, the ZL1 has bigger rotors than the SS.

ZL1 has 14.6 Front and 14.4 rear
SS has 14.0 Front and 14.4 rear

Yea I've wondered if we'll see either of them in the last year of Gen5? I know the C7 is right around the corner and getting a new engine.

I guess I didn't realize the rear rotors were that large. I was thinking they were in the 13" range.

I think it is highly likely that we will for two reasons. 1) v6 was updated in 2012 and v8 update is long overdue. This is a great way to keep the line up fresh for 2014 and 2015. New engine every two years after introduction. 2) Hard to see GM passing up on fuel economy improvements with the new CAFE standard.

Yea I feel the same way and I believe Al recently was quoted saying we should expect something soon to refresh it or keep the Gen5 new. Also, he's said they're not done with this generation.
