For those who have added a SC or turbo?

Did you notify your insurance company?
If you did, how did they react?
Was there a large increase?
Did anyone have an insurance company drop them?

I thought about notifying my insurance company when my Vette got blown but then said Hell No!! That has 500 RWHP and the insurance company would have crapped.

to be honest, I'm more worried about how I can get me SC covered under insurance. Just in case of theft

I have Geico and I called them and told them I wanted to get extra insurance to cover my paint stripes supercharger exhaust stereo system and other shit I put on my car. They had no problem with anything. My insurance went up a little but not much. I don't have the info with me right now because it is at my office. Like I said Geico was really cool about it. I do have to say that I called 3 times until I got someone that understood everything. It is a additional policy I believe. Do it because if you do total your car you would be screwed out of all the mods..

All my mods are insured under an additional rider. The key here is if they ask you is that a performance modification. DO NOT LIE. Say yes it is. If you lie then wreck the car or whatever they can deny your entire claim as it's insurance fraud. Just like stating you don't smoke on health / life insurance to get a lower rate when you really do.

I've added all my expensive mods to my insurance (rims, hood, custom lighting/painting) all told probably about 7gs worth of parts/labor and my monthly went up something like 20. Also w geico
