I guarantee if the power is impressive, they'd see more pre-orders than they already have.

Would you say the same thing about the Hellcat? Would Dodge have nothing to gain by NOT releasing that magnificent HP figure until a few days before the car is actually available. That power figure has people going nuts.

Look, many of the diehards are already disappointed that the Mustang has gained weight. Ford should be saying something about the power. Tell the potential buys that the car makes XXX horsepower (which will make up for the weight) or that it DOES run the 1/4 mile even faster than the last car. SOMEthing!
I don't mean to single you out, you are just unfortunately the best example of this I saw in this thread. It always amazes me how some people think they know more about marketing than the top professionals. Ford has been building and selling (like crazy) Mustangs non-stop for 50 years.

They had no problem selling the 2011+ model with a log axle, less horsepower than the competition, and an outdated chassis, but you don't think they know how to effectively market their fully redesigned Mustang? If they are withholding specs, there is a reason for it.

As for the performance, I specifically remember people here saying how the 5.0 didn't make enough power and the low end torque wouldn't be enough to top the Camaro SS in a straight line. Everyone said the solid axle would turn like crap and the SS would walk all over it in the corners. Look how that turned out. Don't make any conclusions until we see the real world results.

You my friend are entitled to your opinion as am I . You like both cars good for you. I like one and have a strong dislike for the other. I'm sure there are Mustang owners who think of the Camaro as a steaming pile and that's cool too.

Jealous of what?

Hate Mustangs yes!

Probably the only Ford product I despise.

Last time I checked this was CAMARO 5
Hating mustangs is normal, Im sure they hate you too (dont take it personal)...what happens to your pulse when a 5.0 rolls up next to you? Do you challenge it or back down?

No offense taken . I've never backed down to a race and I've never lost to a (stock) Mustang.

Only on the track because street racing is frowned upon

Mopar is soooo far behind Ford and Chevy, it wont take long before the hellcat is old news. The next svt was stated by an insider in 2013, to be a "viper killer". So we will see soon enough. This might the twin turbo voodoo engine with the flat plane crank and 8k redline.

I hope Ford guys are ready for a Mustang pushing $100k. They won't be mocking the Z/28 then.

$100k? never. And the Z28 was always the everymans car whereas the Shelby's were always halo cars.

The mustang in that pic looks pretty sweet. If Ford does come out with a 700 +HP, I really hope Chevy does something crazy with the next ZL1 to keep things interesting.

To me the 2015 Mustang is now caught up from a chassis perspective (handling and more rigid) with the gen 5 Camaro. It will be equal to the 1le at the track. It will be a couple tenth faster in quarter mile but in real world driving about same as well.

The gen 5 Camaro still looks better.
