Timeline for delivery??

I ordered my Camaro last week 2/2/16 (2ss mosaic black on black). I contacted the dealer today (2/10/16) for an order/purchase number to track and they said it will process tonight at midnight due to allocation. Just wondering what the average time frame is at this point to actually get the vehicle??

My dealership is estimating 6 to 8 weeks. Is that reasonable? It looks like your order to offloading has been about 9 weeks?

My thinking is that the factory is probably running at full steam by now and delivery times should be shorter. Just a guess though.

Entered orders are placed (event code 2000) Tuesdays, with the placed order becoming visible to Becky et al Wednesdays. After getting to 2000 the changes can take place any non Sunday of the week, sometimes two or more changes within a few hours of a single day.

If today is Tuesday (and it is not) than what was described in the opening post is possible.

My dealership told me six weeks when I placed the order last week but realized Chevy hasn't gotten the paperwork yet because of the dealers allocations (which I read about here). Hoping that the factory is running full steam now and production time is down...

mine was delayed because of QC and a small union pacific problem

I am ok with QC hold. Union Pacific had issue with 5 rail cars but it was resolved.

As Glen e posted, six to eight weeks from 2000 to 5000 (dealer delivered) is pretty normal.

Dang...if mine is that long, I will have saved enough money to pay it off! (not)

The allocation was the first thing my dealership and I talked about. They had an allocation in hand. My status is 1100 now.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh at your comment. It is a funny thing to have lost a whole car, but not to you, I know. I hope they find it soon and you get it quickly.

There is another little trick that unscrupulous dealers will do if you haven't sat down and executed a buyers order. If you dont have hard copy that delineates the EXACT charges of everything, and you wait till the car comes in , the dealer knows he can bump/add to the price a little bit . Why? Because you're so hot to get the car that you'll except another 100/200/600/whatever charge for something stupid like nitrogen, paint sealsnt, etc!!! BECAUSE YOU ARE IN LOVE WITH THE CAR..

this was recently done to somebody here, when he went in to get the car , they added a $600 bogus charge , because exact charges were not discussed at the time of the order. no buyers order was written and signed.

I might add they try this on youger buyers that they know are chomping at the bit, e.g. those that call every day seeing if the car is there yet, etc...

I order mine on 1/2...dealer didnt have allocation for that order cycle week and order system was shut down the next 2 weeks until 1/21...My order went to 2000 on 1/26...car arrived at dealer today 2/11....I am only 5 hours via truck from Lansing...so that helped...but cant complain 17 days to go from 2000 to when the dealer got it..............weather permitting...picking Fri afternoon or Saturday...
