Yeah, I read that. Somebody had commented online that the guy says his AR is in .308, but that's wrong becasue ARs are only in .223 or 5.56. I explained that there's dozens of AR calibers, up to and including .50 BMG, but I got called an idiot, lol. Fantasy and hear say rule the day. Hell, there used to be a .502 cartridge that an AR could handle

Yeah.
The .308 AR-10 preceded the redesign and rescale that became the AR-15 .223 AR-15.

I didn't say it was wrong. I didn't suggest that ARs can't be in .308

I said the person commenting online said it's wrong. I didn't express the opinion "but that's wrong". The person I described did. And then I explained to him why he was wrong. You read that...right?

Christ on a crutch, you're serious? Did you think I meant AR-15s or did you just post before you understood?

- edit - Now I understand the rest of the replies- you guys really read poorly, lol. And I know you're probably going to be embarrassed and pissed about that but come on fellas, this is hardly The Brothers Karamazov here.

It's not reading comprehension, it's improper English the way you wrote it. It's a writers fail, not a readers.

Comma's act as stopping points in a sentence almost like periods do at the end of sentences. What you wrote was "Somebody had commented online that the guy says his AR is in .308, but that's wrong becasue ARs are only in .223 or 5.56."

Now take what you wrote and change the comma to a period and you have this which is the way it is to be read based on how you wrote the sentence "Somebody had commented online that the guy says his AR is in .308. But that's wrong becasue ARs are only in .223 or 5.56."

As you can see, based on how you wrote the sentence, you are saying that you were the one saying it is wrong, not the other person. We read the sentence correctly, you just wrote it incorrectly. I bet you'll be embarrassed when you realize that you just failed trying to call someone else out on their mistake when it was entirely your mistake to start with.

Remember, proper punctuation is the difference between "Helping your uncle jack, off a horse." and "Helping your uncle, jack off a horse".
