moving the front lighting functions on a SS RS

I have a new SS RS with HID and halo lighting. The only problem is it kinda stupid the way Chevy wired them. The fogs are actually DRL's, and do-nothing but run during the day. You can never use them as fogs. As soon as you turn on the lights, the Fogs go out. In addition the Halos run anytime the parking lights are on or the headlights.

So what I wanted was the halos to be my daytime running lights and the fogs to be true fogs and rune with parking lights or headlights, NOT during the day as DRL's.

I can't believe how easy it was to make this happen.

The first harness is from Gen5DIY called a "halo harness" and allows you to run the halos any time the enginris running. No tools, just plug and play.

Now to tackle the fogs. Phasetek makes a small kit with wire intercept clamps and a single wire, that allows you to capture the pos lead into the marker light and attach to the power wire of the fog light. Then all you do is cut the power wire ABOVE the intercept and now the fog is0 powered by the marker light.

Thanks to a a Chevy master tech friend that helped me figure it out. NO loads on any wiring, no faults thrown. Just fogs that work at night and halos that run during the day

harnesses here:

PS. The problem with gen5diy's DRL harness is it does not cut off the DRL (fog) during the day.

The daytime running lights now:

I bet if you talked to 2SSRS (owner of Gen5 DIY) - he'd be able to make you a harness that does what you want.

Heck - OR you could just buy the RS to non-RS kit that he's working on.

So, if you have your light switch turned to auto, during the daytime the halos come on as the daytime running lights?

I have this and its plug and play and you can make it do pretty much whatever you want it to do. If you do something and later don't like it you just open the control box and change the settings.

Yes, it's a complete shift of the DRL function to the halos for Day mode. The last harness like this that was done had the DRL's on at night, too, but that can be changed.

I'm confused.. does this do what my original post does?

1.halos are the only thing on during the day?
2. at night the round lower lights that were DRL's, are now on only at night?

like my pics?

We can do any custom variation that you want, but, the one I mentioned works like your pics show.

I'll have to PM the price as vendors are not allowed to post that info.
