Long Tube Headers in SoCal

I want to install Long Tube Headers on my 2015 Camaro ss 1LE, but found out they are not legal in SoCal

I have seen many ads in socal featuring cars with headers.

What are you guys in SoCal doing to achieve sound & performance of headers?

Or smog legal shorties, hiflows and tune. I know not best, and at smog time remove hiflows is easy and put on stock ones. I got 32hp with all that and great sound with outlaw axelback. If you want lts that is best but remove at smog time and if caught by leo I have heard fine is big

Can you guys who have installed long tube headers elaborate.

How do you pass a smog test?

What happens if you get sent to a referee? (I have heard of fines up to 10k)

Please let me know the risk:reward of proceeding down this path (installing headers in SoCal).

Thanks

You can save your parts and put them back on at smog time...

The big question here is what do you do if you get pulled over, and the cop asks you to pop the hood. I'd love to run LT's to gain the extra 30+ HP, but the unknown haunts me.

It would be nice to hear from somebody in Cali that has done this.
