There is NOTHING like road racing. I haven't met one person who hasn't become completely hooked on it after the first time they do it. I've never drag raced at a strip, but I do drag race out of EVERY SINGLE CORNER on the road course. I have met several people that have gone from drag racing to road racing, but not the other way around - not saying it doesn't happen, just sharing my experience. I don't doubt one bit that drag racing takes more skill than most people possess. In fact, it takes pure talent/brilliance to be one of the fastest. Road racing requires those same skills plus many more (including stamina) to manage all 4 directions of acceleration - not just 1 (forward).

If you never do an HPDE in your 5th gen SS, you'll never truly understand what the engineers had in mind when they designed it. It was not to drag race 5.0's.

I swung through a Ford Dealer lot the other day to look at a 5.0L. I didn't have time to test drive it. My impression after a thorough exterior inspection is it just does not match up to the Camaro. It's a decent looking car but is not as quality looking as the Camaro. I can't really describe it but the Camaro is definitely a better more refined car. I'm sure the Mustang's performance is great (like the Camaro) but for the money the Camaro is the hands down choice.

Back on topic, I love my camaro ,but I couldn't disagree more about the quality and the interior of the mustang. I too road in a new one that my buddy got, and I have to say the interior is light years ahead of our on fit and finish and overall appeal. I'm no mustang guy ,but I know a well built car when I see one.

I do not think there is a winner situation. It is all about expanding everyones thoughts and taking full advantage of the talents the new Camaro will show.

You have diehard Mustang fans and diehard Camaro fans(us). There are those AC/DC folks who will buy either. As for me, if stangs were blowing out SS's I still will be a Camaro guy. Think of it as a sport fan. Some people have their team and others are just haters!
