All you need to do is disconnect the battery and go smoke a cigarette so the capacitors discharge.

I would rather wait on Ofer and see what he comes up with cutting the HUD in half if something falls off or gets broken there is no refund you are out. Maybe the dash will have to be pulled but at least I can wait to find out before I order the HUD I am kind of scared to pull the dash in a way and if there is an easier way I would rather take it.

If you end up having to pull the dash it is not a hard as you think, just helps to have an extra set of hands.

Ofer, something to consider. Sometimes on dash pulls we pull the whole column. Service information has you take the steering column apart. Rather then removing the steering wheel, air bag, control arm switches off the column. When pulling the column that way you pull the whole thing as a unit. Pull the bolt at the rag joint at the base of the column and have some main elect connectors. This also gives you more room to work and your not taking the column apart. just make sure the steering wheel is centered when you pull the column. and lock the steering wheel in place or tape it in place. so the SIR ribbon does not get out of postion. in other words if the steering wheel is rotated to many times one way or the other the sir ribbon will break or be out of position. you want to put the column back on as it came off. don't rotate the steering wheel after taking it off. keep the same orientation as it came off. I know your looking for the shortest route to get this hud in. Hopfully you won't have go this far. Good luck and happy turkey day

Count me the hell in on getting that powerpoint but not because of HUD- I screwed up my dash (you know, high heels upsidedown on the passenger seat...) I simply need to replace the dash but at first look, it's going to BLOW without detailed help. The PPT would be a God-send.

Never mind- found the ppt and the pdf version a few pages back...
