Ideally, hitting the trap at peak rpm HP is the goal...

To answer your question; 6,700rpm redline, on a standard height tire (28.4"):
3.73 is 153mph
3.91 is 146mph

You ain't gonna touch those numbers with your HP. Expect something like trapping 130mph

3.73 makes that 5,683rpms
3.91 makes that 5,957rpms

Thank you for that info. I think if I were to switch I'd go with 3.91 as I only race on a et street radial anyways don't really see it causing wheelspin on a tire that dead hooks

My brother has a set of brand new 3.70 gears for sale. They are made by the same company that makes the GM gears. He decided to go with 3.91.

2010 SS cammed with D1 Procharger and other bolt on's. Doing the 3.5" Aluminum DS and diff cover immediately and was going to add in the Eaton Truetrack unit. Since it will be apart was going to do gears, after reading would the 3.70's be my best choice as well? Originally I planned on 3.91's due to cost and I used to run NOS mustangs with 4.10's and loved it...

749rwhp, 670rwtq on an M6

I will be doing the axles next.

Thanks in advance for the feedback

That's a lot of power for the stock diff, I'd put that money into a zl1 diff which would end up costing the same as a built stock diff/axles and can take much more power

The ZL1 diff is better than an SS diff with Eaton TrueTrac, LPW Cover, 3.5" single driveshaft and 1500HP axles?

I am at about $4,000 parts and labor for the above....

Appreciate the recommendation.

I run around on Mickey Thompson DR's, thus traction is very important, safety is key...

appreciate that John, I originally thought about doing the 3.70's but many people said the 3.91's would be a better option for low end as the blower doesnt make power until about 3800rpm.

Your PD blower makes 550 ft pounds of torque at 2200 rpm dude.
