2.3 Magnacharged 2010 SS (600 rwhp) vs stock 2013 ZL1 - Which one would you buy?
Hey guys
I have a chance right now to get into a supper low mileage 2010 SS which is making approx. 600 rwhp or a 2013 stock ZL1. I will lay out the details here to see what you guys think. -The 2010 SS is approximately $6000 cheaper then the ZL1 -It has less then half the mileage then the ZL1 (14 000 miles) -Its making quite a bit more power then the ZL1, approximately 600 rwhp -lastly its my favorite color Now onto the ZL1: -its my LEAST favorite color , but I plan to have it wrapped or plasti dipped -it obviously is newer -interior is much nicer from what I heard (assuming that's true?) -its much more beefed up (suspension , brakes , engine internals etc...) -Aside from the color it obviously looks much better , body additions and vented hood etc... Ive had my mind set on getting a ZL1 but the prices are not coming down to where id like , so they are still sort of out of my range at this point. The SS is lighter and making more power, so id be extremely happy with that , but the boring looks really take the passion away from me, but im sure that can be improved with a z28 spoiler kit and some lowering springs. I already have a beautiful set of auto coutures to go on either the SS or ZL1 So to sum up my issue, I can get the SS which is going to be faster , its cheaper, lower mileage and is my favorite color Or I can get the ZL1 which is what ive really wanted, but it is more expensive, less powerful, and my least favorite color , but like I said I could plasti dip or wrap it. What are your thoughts on this ? I know you guys will be somewhat bias towards the ZL1, and I get that , but please keep in mind some of us are on a budget and I may only have this SS for a year or so before I move up to the ZL1. Thanks so much in advance |

Going with the ZL1 will get you the magnetic ride suspension and a beefier rear end to go with this. The looks of the Zl1 are a lot more aggressive. You can spend a few $ and get a ZL1 to 600 RWHP easily.
Yeah maybe a little biased but you should also factor in what you get with the Zl1 package.

ZL1 is my vote if you ever want to sell it'll be worth a lot more down the road. I've had to Maggie Camaros and currently looking for ZL1. Your a pulley and a tune away from 600 I would think.

Zl1 all day. Everything about the ZL1 is improved. You will spend a ton more on the SS to even get on the ZL1s chassis level. And it will hold it value better than the SS.

Wait for a ZL1 in the color you like.
The $6000 difference will shrink if you buy the SS . Better brakes , Suspension , interior the list goes on. Believe me I know.

You've already posted this in the "General Discussion" section and didn't get the answer you wanted. Just go and buy the modified SS. It is the car you want, so go cut them a check.

If cross shopping them Id go with the Zl1 in this situation. Better sups, rear, interior, MyLink, etc.
That said if on a budget Im thinking you can buy a 10 SS for a lot less than 6k short of a ZL1. Add your own mods and may come out better. What are actual asking prices?

The average ZL1 is going for about $12 000- $15 000 more then what I can get the SS for. There was one guy selling his ZL1 for about $8000 more, and I worked him down to $6000 more, so that's when I made the threads. If it wasn't for the color of the ZL1 I probably would of sent him a deposit already, that's the only thing holding me back at this point |

The SS could be a money pit down the road if it wasnt modded by a decent shop a bad tune could lead to a whole bunch of issues, the zl1 being stock you know it hasn't been messed with

Easy, Hercules. We're all just trying to help out here.
As I said in your other thread, get the ZL1 and have it wrapped.
