Question Stupid to change RED SS decal - yes or no

I am just curious if anyone has done this or plan to... Those with a SS and also have the RS package...
do you plan to or have you changed the color of the red SS on your car??

Do you think its stupid to change the color of the SS if you have the RS package because then people wont know you have the RS package?

I am thinking of blacking out the bowties on my cyber gray SS/RS but I debating if it would be stupid to ALSO change the color of the SS? (I was thinking to make the SS cyber gray)

Any suggestions?? opinions?

Anyone who actually knows the diff between RS & non RS can still spot the halo lites, darker rear tail lamps and roof ditch color so why not if you're trying to obtain a look that does'nt include red?

do whatever you think will look better. If you just use vinyl overlays you can always easily go back to red. I got silver overlays for mine (from member Xmicro_SS) and I think it looks better.

I think it would look good it is only vinyl if "YOU" don't like it then peel it off. One thing I have learned from all my mods do what you like don't worry about what others think they are not paying for the car you are.

I have a IBM 2SS with white stripes and have red SS emblems. They don't match so I changed them to white, now it all matches. If you want to know if I have a RS SS go and look at my headlights.

I think ridergraphix is doing them too, but I'm not 100% sure.

I personally wouldn't. The regular SS comes w/ the silver (very close to gray) emblem. The custom red SS was part of the RS package. Yes, the majority of people won't know what the red SS means, and most people who know would be able to spot that it is an RS anyway - but still. I paid for that custom red SS and I'm keeping it! That said, I wouldn't say it's "stupid" - it's your car, and if you wanna gray the SS to match, that's your call. I'm probably blacking the bowties but keeping the SS red.

I bought some black SS inlays from Black10. They look awesome on my black 2SS/RS. The red SS's just seemed out of place on my car. Besides, I owned my car for two weeks before I learned that the red SS emblems indicated an RS car, so I seriously doubt that non-camaro owners know it. Also, you can always buy some red inlays in case you want to go back to the stock look.

This is my thought as well, I say go for it. Anyone that would know why the SS is red should know enough to look for the other signs of it having the RS package.

A couple of things... First, the regular SS emblems are white on the inside, not silver. Second, you could always order a backup set of the red SS emblems if you wanted to go back to them.

Just my $0.02.

the people that are smart enough to know that the red emblems means the rs package, should also be able to look at the car and see that it has the rs package

Yeah, I'm aware you can go back.

Maybe I'm mistaken, but every time I've seen camaroincarolina's 1SS, the emblems look white to me.

See?
