Future model year options on current 2010 Camaro

I have ordered my 2010 2SS and couldn't be happier with the current package. I would however like to eventually add options such as factory/dealer installed Navigation or HUD (not available until 2011 model year). Since this is my first new car, i'm unaware of the possiblity of adding future model year options to a previous model. What is the status of adding future options (GM, not aftermarket) to the 2010 2SS. Is this a common practice? Thanks to all who answer.

I'm confused are you saying Nav is available in 2011, or are you saying just the HUD will be available in 2011?

If I'm reading your post correctly, you should be able to add options, such as performance mods., (ie; headers, etc.) without any problem.

Adding navigation is a possibility, but may be less cost efficient, eg., if it's built into the radio, the cost may be high relative to just buying a system like Garmen.

Adding HUD might be another issue.

The navigation system will be OnStar Turn-byTurn. That, or a portable GPS makes the most sense, as an onboard NAV system will be considered outdated in several years and would be expensive to update (the same price as a portable, of which you could buy a new one every year and still be ahead).

Everyone, please stop bitching about this car not having the kind of navigation system you think it should have. What we're getting will be just fine!

I fail to see the infatuation with these built-in GPS screens. They are obsolete in no time and most of us intend to keep our new Camaros for many years. More than that, however, I know where I am going 99% of the time and I sure as heck don't want the other guy fiddling with his keypad when he should be driving his dang car.

The last thing I want is a NAV system in mine. I want to get in and drive and drive and drive. I'll know where I'm going when I get there.

Not true....

In the vette it is a fairly easy mod, you can pop the top off the dash, plug it in, and the dash is pre-marked where to cut the hole. I have no doubt the camaro will likely be similar.
