So it's been a whole week and I finally got something done, I got my ZL1 Fuel Pump in and running, thanks to the guys who pushed me to get my A$$ in the garage and stop f*cking around
Only explaining for N00bs like me who want to do it themselves! So I used a 12v Milwaukee rotary tool with a Dremel metal cutting disk 1" Started cutting from driver side counter clockwise, last cut was the bottom, I stuck a piece of 11 gauge underneath just to be safe because of the lines. I spilled almost no fuel besides when I took the hose off on top. Tank was less than 1/4 full. "Tech Tip" do yourself a favor and use some zip ties to get the lines out of the way, wrap a shop towel around the top hose. As I was watching others on the Tube, I could see them fighting the tubing and the power connector lol. after taking the old one out I cleaned the old O-ring seating, and vacuumed everything out clean, when you put the outer ring back on it's tight as heck, I had to call my Buddy to push the side down diagonal from where I was giving it a lick. I used a non marring hammer and a brass bar. turned the ignition key on and off a few times for priming I reckon I don't know why lol, but she started right up. I had no fuel smell or leakage after driving. Anything else I should do because of the new pump? let me know guys. Also I got to mention that I don't have rear bench but a rear seat delete. After I was done, and drove off I was like why the F* is it so loud in here? did I not close the door all the way or is my window open? No, my Dumbass just cut an 8" square out which is now a Hole I didn't finished the door yet since I couldn't find my riveting tool Here some Pics: cool: |
