I had best results with my old baby cam around 6800. That was a very small cam, anything beefier is going to require 7000 ish shifts. My new combo will probably want 7000-7200

What Ureal said is very important. Just saying it's an upgrade doesn't really mean it can do X amount of RPM....at the same time without seeing the dyno graph it might not make much point in spinning it much higher.
At any rate 6500 typically isn't anything to worry about. Most of our cam kits can spin to 6900 no issues with valve train stability. |
