New ZL1 owner!
I've been a member of this site since 2009. I ordered a 2010 2SS/RS in july of 2009 and took delivery nov 2009. It's been my baby. In 2012 when the ZL1 came out I tried my best to get one but none of the dealerships around had any allocations left to order. They were however some I could've bought but not what i wanted. I wanted M6, IOM, exposed carbon weave, and sunroof. When Chevy discontinued IOM I thought my days were over. Fast forward to April 2014. My buddy at work found a Lotus and went to California to get it. I had to look for a used ZL1 they way I wanted it after that. Just got the itch ya know. Anyway I found quite a few, but one in WI caught my eye. A 2012 with 287 miles and a clean carfax for 48K. So i called the dealership. They said they would give 22.5K for my 2010 which i only owed 12K on, however i had to come up to WI. I live in TX and I'm in the Air Force. I worked it out to get sometime off and a buddy and I trailered my SS and took off to WI. 48 hrs later I returned with my new ZL1. Yes i said new! Turns out it's just been on the lot since 2012. The miles that are on it were from a dealer transfer. I'm still the orginal owner. Needless to say I'm very happy and love this car. Bought the car on April 12th. Had some explaining to do to the wife cause that just happens to be her B-day and i left town to get a car. She understands though. Guess I might have to let her drive it, once. lol
As you can see I've already started some visual mods. 1- painted tail light bezels black 2- rapid fire and sequential turn signal tail lights (take off from my SS) 3- cut our gold center of rear bowtie and painted the rest black 4- Amber grill illumnation 5- led/plasma DRL and Fogs 6- black gorilla locks 7- new zl1 badges (black/orange) and black camaro letters for fender 8- Flowtie mod from the DIY and painted IOM to match car Love the look that that 9- led concept side markers IOM/ghosted on order |

Dang, nice car, if I could find a new 2012 in white or IOM, I would be all over it too.

I followed the DIY on this site for Flow tie for a ZL1. After i popped off the gold inlay with a screwdriver I used a dremmel to cut out a hole in the center and did the rest with a razor blade. Did the same with the grill as well.
