Finally drove one!

I drove a Camaro 1ss and the fully loaded v6 model. I don't know what the letters are for it. (After all I have been a Mopar guy) I also drove the Challenger RT so I got to compare some fun vehicles!

Let's start with the first one I ruled out. The Challenger R/T. I enjoyed it, but it was a little slow on take-off and is terribly overpriced. A middle of the road Challenger for 37,000 or a 1ss (with a Corvette motor!) for 31,000? What is Dodge thinking?

And the other one I've ruled out-the v6 Camaro. Although it's fun and user friendly I it doesn't have the head slammin' torque I've grown accustomed to with my Jeep srt8.

So, that leaves the 1ss. I've been working with the salesman for 2 days to get the numbers right, so we will see. Which means I am one step away from going over to the dark side.

Good luck!! I think anytime you can get some good old fashioned American muscle you should go for it.

The 1SS is (or was for me) the best car for the price. You don't get all the fancy/unnecessary stuff which hark-ins back to the 60's muscle car era; but (!!) you get the major power plant

Thats about the same process I went through only the dodge dealers here refused to let anyone test drive the challenger. They are probably still on the lot especially with the $10K markup. LOL.

I test drove a 2LT with auto and sunroof and a 2SS with manual and no sunroof. Between the two I was able to figure out what to order (2SS w/ auto & sunroof ). Didn't test drive anything else though... knew I wanted the Camaro!

Gratz the 1SS (Super Sport) is a great value for what you get. I love mine and don't miss the extra stuff at all.

the 6.2L power is fun at first. but then you'll get bored of the stock power and then you'll want more. just like me.... I was happy for maybe a week or so. that's when I blew about $10K on a Maggie supercharger along with LT headers and a few other goodies.

trust me, $10K doesn't go very far when it comes to quenching your HP thirst when it comes to these cars. it's more than addicting....
