Maybe..... Just maybe they stopped production to run already produced cars back through the line to make needed change(s). Maybe they know how important it is to get these shipped FIRST instead of the cars built after our 480 ZL1s shipping ahead of the QA issue resolve.
Let's HOPE Do any of our friends near the plant see movement in the lot?

GM needs to offer some incentives if this delay goes much longer. GM Discount for those eligible, Cash Back, 0% financing just to name a few.

Seriously.. Some of you people need to get a damn grip.. GM doesn't owe anyone anything on this.. YOU ALL PREORDERED A CAR BEFORE IT WAS FULLY BUILT. Get over it, get over yourselves, grow up and move on.. If you don't like it. Speak with your wallet, cancel and go get something else..
You all keep acting like this and I can see GM killing off pre-orders altogether. Some of you want to roast GM over the delays, but you would be the same to bitch incessantly for every little imperfection you found. Look.. I can understand your frustrations... But..... How would you feel getting something broken, on the virge of broken or otherwise impaired.. I get irritated in the gaming industry when games I've been waiting over a year on get pushed back, pushed more, etc.. It's irritating.. I do get angry... But.. I do take a step back and remind myself that I would be even more pissed waiting all that time, getting it and it being busted.... There are times it's happened.. I've even lost entire game saves that were near the end because the game was rushed to market with known flaws.. In the end, they got more flak for that than they would have had they just delayed a little longer to make sure it was right. Last edited by HumanWiki; 03-16-2012 at 10:03 AM. |

Imagine, if you will, how p*ssed new owners would be if their ZL1s, held in QC quarantine for well over a month, were delivered in anything less than PERFECT condition. I seem to remember Al O stating that absolute PERFECTION is the goal GM strives for, but in reality, it's a matter of closing the gap. At some point, you have to let it go & deliver the goods. The ZL1 will always be a work in progress, that is until the 6th generation Camaros hit the streets in a couple of years or so.

I didn't notice a promise from GM for a delivery date.
Don't misunderstand that I'm not as eager of you with orders and deposits down. I just find the comment about some sort of entitlement to be reprehensible... GM wants the car to be perfect.

While Chevy engineers are busy rectifying the ZL1's computer programming issue, how about a new pulley & tune while the car is under their control? Gas cards? "Tru-Coat"? That Tru-coat is great stuff!

Are you sugesting people shouldnt be pissed if they bought a new car with problems? I'm agreeing with GM's decision, they need to make it right before they ship thats a no brainer. What I'm saying is if we are atill in this spot 3 or 4 weeks from now, GM should offer some sort of incentive. We are getting close to the 2013 model year. Dont know why you jumped on me so quick, that was my 1st post. GM isnt going to give you a free car for defending them.

Whats a "pre-order"? There are no "pre-orders". These are orders. While I agree that GM does not "owe" anything to people with delayed orders, I think people are suggesting some token of good will for those willing to wait. I don't think that will happen, but its no reason to call them babies. They are customers, and deserve to be treated as such. The ZL1 is not a gift from your parents that is taking too long to arrive from Santa, its an expensive toy that for most is a discretionary purchase with other options available. Yes, the complaining can be getting a little much, but where else can you vent to but the forum of fellow customers waiting for their ZL1's to arrive? I think for a lot of people on the forum venting is a way to help the time go by. Besides, if there is anywhere to vent it is this thread...as has been said by others..if you don't like the thread, move on. There are lots of other interesting threads to participate in. None of the "so called babies" are calling anyone names. Just you. So what does that say about your post?
