Just got my springs installed... Warning signs?
So I just got the new PFADT lowering springs installed on my V6.
I love springs, first and foremost. But are there any warning signs I should look for to know something is wrong? Not to say that there's anything wrong with the springs, but with the installation of them. I went over many speed bumps today and heard the weirdest noise coming from the front wheels. I also felt the front fender and it was quite hot in that area (not sure if that's unusual or not) So are these warning signs that they were installed improperly? Are there other signs I should look for?

I did not, actually. I got the springs installed exactly at this time yesterday so it's been 24 hours.
They actually told me not to get the alignment checked right away... to wait about 1-2 weeks and let the springs settle in and adjust. There's this odd and awkward clunky sound that is made when i go over a speed bump or a steep driveway. It's kind of embarrassing when a bunch of people are around because I think they may hear it.

Get the bushes timed and your car aligned as soon as the noise is resolved. Bush Timing Step 1. Lift the car on a two post lift and raise it. Step 2. Loosen the following bolts/nuts: Front: ---Inner Control Arm Bushing ---Inner Radius Rod Rear: ---Trailing Arm Bushings (both ends) ---Toe Rod Bushings (both ends) ---Lower Control Arm Bushings (Inner) ---Upper Control Arm Bushings (Rearward) ---Lower Strut Bushings Step 3. Lower the car and drive it around the parking lot SLOWLY and on to the alignment lift. Step 4. With the weight of the car on the wheels tighten all of the nuts/bolts to spec. Step 5. Align the car at the new ride height. Here are the newest FE2, FE3, FE4 and FE5 OEM and Pedders Alignment Specs. Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. |
